Julian and Derek’s totally rad JOINT video blog

This one is in an epic 5 parts!!~ Probably the coolest thing we’ve done is seeing Debussy’s La Mer and Beethoven’s 6th Symphony performed by the amazing Concertgebouw orchestra with a guest conductor. Completely incredible. The Van Gogh Museum was amazing, too… actually, we’ve been having a fantastic time and pretty much everything we’ve done has been awesome. Check it out!

tuesday morning: julian arrived
tuesday afternoon: i had class
tuesday night: met at barney’s and got sleeping bag and got asian dinner and came back
wednesday lunch: concert
wednesday afternoon: i had class and got lost in city
wednesday night: met at homegrown fantasy, got inflatable matress
thursday morning: i had class
thursday: went and played flute in vondelpark
thursday afternoon: met at museumplein at 5, ate at hap hmm
thursday night: went to pink borrel at cafe uilenstede
friday morning: made grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch
friday afternoon: went to maoz falafel at muntplein for dinner, wanted van gogh, but went to vondelpark instead because we had to be somewhere… stopped at a grocery store to buy beers
friday night: went to unTITled, we went clubbing at hotel arena… walked to centraal station to catch night bus… ate at febo (first experience with kroket)
saturday: woke up late, we went into the city… i rode my bike in the rain because we were thinking of renting bikes but obviously no go, and then we walked through the market at waterloopplein and went into the city from the east, then concert (debussy and beethoven at concertgebouw) and then we came back and played chess and read for a while
sunday: woke up early, ate breakfast at barney’s a little later than we were expecting, then went to museums (van gogh first, then the first floor of the rijksmuseum), decided to come back to the dorm and i made pasta and we picniced, then we went into the city to go to abraxas for free wifi and on the way back we got food at febo and maoz
today: overslept, went to centraal station after oatmeal & granola and that took a while and then we went to get food at van dobben and went to the museum het rembrandthuis and then we walked through the red light district and caught the tram back… went to grocery store
